One of the largest full-production motor yachts of her era, the
Hatteras 58 was the state of the art in large motor yachts during
the late 1970s. Indeed, Hatteras practically owned the market
for big motor yachts in those days, and there was very little to
compete with the 58 short of an expensive, custom-built yacht.
Featuring a full-width salon and offered with an enclosed
aft deck, the Hatteras 58 was built on a stretched 53 MY
hull with moderate transom deadrise and a long keel. With her narrow
beam and high center of gravity, the 58 could be a tender
ride in a beam sea when not equipped with stabilizers. The original
three-stateroom, three-head floorplan was arranged with the galley
and dinette down.
Lacking full walkaround side decks, the salon dimensions are very
spacious. Additional features of the Hatteras 58 MY include separate
walk-in enginerooms, a full-size tub in the owner's stateroom,
and a huge flybridge with lounge seating for a small crowd.
"Stella di Mare" is a beautifully maintained 58 MY with galley down and 3 staterooms. Aft deck is hard enclosed with a built-in settee across the stern. The full beam main saloon has a sofa and 2 barrel chairs, cocktail and end tables. Forward in the saloon is a built-in wet bar with icemaker and stereo system.
The pilothouse has 2 sliding entrance doors, port and starboard. There is a custom pass through with hinged doors that opens the pilothouse to the saloon. Pilothouse sole is the original "Haddon Hall" pattered teak parquet flooring that is high gloss varnished.
Below forward is the remodeled Galley that included updated appliances, flooring, headliners, Corian counter tops and dinette table, stainless steel accents and lighting.
Forward of the Galley is the Forward Guest Stateroom with 2 single upper and lower berths, plenty of storage and an remodeled ensuite Guest Head with a stall shower. In this stateroom is the washer/dryer combo with a large tool storage locker above.
Moving aft from the Galley are the port and starboard walk-in enginerooms, then to port is the Mid-Guest Stateroom with twin berths. Across from the guest is the remodeled Guest Head with stall shower.
All the way aft is the very spacious Master Stateroom which features a centerline Queen Berth, a large double door closet and plenty of drawer and locker storage and a flat screen tv. The remodeled ensuite Master Head has a large combo tub/shower.
