A best seller for Ocean during the late 1980s, the 48 Super Sport
was built on a stretched 46 Super Sport hull with new deck
and superstructure styling and a slightly enlarged cockpit. She's
a good-looking boat even today with her Jersey-style profile and
aggressive appearance, but even more notable is the fact that she
could turn an honest 30 knots with standard 485hp 6-71 diesels
impressive performance indeed considering that 6-71s are very
small engines for a boat this size. Built on a lightweight hull with
a narrow beam and a very modest 2 degrees of transom deadrise,
she's quick to accelerate but a stiff ride in a chop thanks to her
flat-bottom design. "Cheryl C" is the very popular three stateroom,
mid-galley interior layout. The interior woodwork and trim are
varnished teak, and the array of standard equipment included
cockpit controls, tackle center with freezer, teak cockpit sole, and
teak covering boards. A total of 167 of these distinctive yachts were built during her 5-year production run.

Here's the GOOD NEWS
- She was a fresh water boat when new, kept in Racine Wisconsin.
- Current owner purchased her in 1998 when he brought her to the Upper Chesapeake
- She has been kept in a covered shed slip 24/7/365 since 1998.
- She has been maintained very well cosmetically and looks very nice
- She has NEVER BEEN FISHED
- Last haulout for bottom paint was approx 5 years ago.
- A local diver has been keeping the zincs changed.
- We believe the engine hours to be around 1,000 original hours.
What we know SHE NEEDS
- Main engines will be started and run by a Detroit Diesel mechanic
- Main engine impellers will be replaced.
- Starboard fuel tank reported to have been leaking. Further investigation suggested.
- Both fuel tanks have been emptied of fuel.
- Engines/Genset not started or run in 13 years. Full engine service will be required.
- Both main engine turbo chargers reported locked up and need replacement.
- 11Kw Westerbeke Genset with 976 Hours on the meter needs the exhaust riser replaced.
