Accommodations
The 42 Classic is a model that many other trawler builders have used as a guide developing their boats. McNew and Parker's Powerboat Guide says that the "enduring popularity and strong resale values ( of the 42 ) can be attributed to superb engineering and construction, timeless styling, and a proven semi-displacement hull design." The interior sleeps 4 owners and guests in two staterooms plus 1 settee berth for a total of 5 berths. The master stateroom is aft with head, shower, and double bed. There is a guest stateroom forward including a guest head with shower. The main salon has an L-settee and Grand Banks yacht table to starboard with two additional chairs bringing seating to six. On the port side aft of the entry door is a large built-in entertainment and storage cabinet with a TV on a swivel fixture mounted on top. The galley is to port forward of the entry door. A custom feature is the Grand Banks special overhead series of hinged swing-down cabinets mounted on the galley ceiling and across the lower helm. This greatly increases the storage space for galley and navigational items.
