1998 Sea Ray 400 Sundancer
Boat Type: Cruiser Address: Chester, MD, US Price: $99,900

Overview

Whether for weekend excursions or extended cruising, the Sea Ray 400 Sundancer is the one. The distinctive styling begins with the 400 Sundancer's mid-cabin, raised-helm design. A fiberglass sport spoiler with overhead lighting, generous seating arrangement, and portside wet bar make the cockpit an inviting place to pass time with friends. The 400 Sundancer is powered by twin Caterpillar 3116 350 HP V-drives. The large cockpit area has bench seating on three sides and a portside wet bar with faucet and icemaker, making it ideal for large gatherings. A transom door leads to the wide swim platform. At the helm, a double companion seat keeps company with the adjustable captain's chair. The electronics package includes a Garmin 2010c GPS/Chart Plotter, B&G VHF radio, multifunction depth finder, speed, and a separate Furuno Radar/Chart Plotter. The forward deck gives sun worshipers a place to relax. The built-in French toe-rail and through-bolted stainless steel bow rail make passage to the foredeck sure and safe. Below, the salon area features a curved sofa, perfect for relaxing before dinner; add the fiberglass table and it's a perfect dining spot. Later, it becomes the perfect sleeping spot for overnight guests. With central heat, air conditioning, and TV - VCR - radio combo, this is your home away from home. The Sundancer berth, or mid-stateroom, is a conversation area during the day and converts to a double berth at night. In the master stateroom is a full-size pedestal bed and a private entertainment center with TV. Cedar-lined hanging lockers and port and starboard vanities with cabinets below provide plenty of storage. With access from the salon and the forward stateroom, the master head includes a VacuFlush toilet, a vanity with sink, and full stand-up fiberglass shower. The guest head aft features a VacuFlush toilet and vanity with sink. Faux-granite countertops accent the full galley, featuring a full-size Dometic refrigerator - freezer, flush-mount Kenyon three-burner electric stove and Panasonic microwave, and convenience package with built-in coffeemaker and Nu-Tone in countertop blender.

Descriptions

Accommodations

Long on styling and loaded with cruising amenities, the Sea Ray
400 Sundancer set the class standards in her day for sportcruiser
luxury and elegance. She's built on a deep-V hull with a solid
fiberglass bottom, moderate beam, and prop pockets to reduce the
shaft angles of her V-drive engines. The midcabin floorplan of the
400 Sundancer is arranged in the conventional manner with the
owner's stateroom forward, an open galley in the main cabin, and
a midcabin stateroom/lounge with a privacy door. Note that there's
a second head adjoining the midcabin--a very desirable feature
indeed. The forward head has a stall shower, and the level of fit and
finish throughout is second to none. Topside, the huge U-shaped
cockpit lounge will seat a small crowd, and the entire aft section
of the cockpit sole rises electrically without moving the aft seat
for engine access. Foldaway boarding steps, a radar arch, and a
transom storage locker were standard. An extended swim platform
was a popular option in later models. Twin Cat 340hp diesels
cruise in the mid 20s (close to 30 knots top).
